L’Ukraine est située à l’extrémité ouest de l’ancienne union soviétique. Elle est aussi connue sous le nom de «Borderland» traduit littéralement par bout du monde. Aussi en Ukrainien quand on trinque on dit «Boudumon» pour souhaiter la santé à ses convives. Cordâme et Gregory Hlady joue la musique traditionnel de l’Ukraine et les compositions de Jean Félix Mailloux. Un spectacle méditatif et envoûtant qui fait réfléchir sur les différentes phases de la vie et de la mort.

Ukraine is situated at the western end of the former Soviet Union. It is also known as the « Borderland ». Cordâme and Gregory Hlady play folk songs of Ukraine transported into the dreamlike world of Cordâme and compositions by Jean Félix Mailloux. A meditative and mesmerizing concert that makes reflects upon the different phases of life and death.

Cordâme is a string trio active in Montreal since 2004. Cordâme explores textures, timbre and tone specific to stringed instruments and present evocative music that transport us in mixed folkloric music. Cordâme music leaves a lot of places for long sustained melodies. It is sometimes sad, happy or dancing. After several projects inspired by the folklore of various regions, the group has forged a repertoire composed by Jean Félix Mailloux inspired by various folkloric music.
